“Sing to me of the man, Muse, the man of twists and turns,
Driven time and again off course …”
Gulliver are three men who have travelled the world on others’ projects, in search of the intimate venue, the audience’s listening ear and the magnificent moment.
At this year’s festival you’ll hear them choosing their own tunes, and exploring them with lots of space and shared love of the spontaneous spark. It will be a series of tender swinging journeys that seek to find the beauty in each song. You’ll hear our homage to Grant Green, to Jimmy Blanton, to those we’ve lost... At other times, we will all have no idea where it’s headed: we’re just holding onto the drama of improvisation that is jazz, until a familiar melody comes to tell you where you are and guide you home.
